| Day 3: Taormina |
 |
|
In the morning,
half a day guided visit to the town of Taormina:
located on the Ionian coast, it is the world's
perfect place for a honeymoon; Taormina is Sicily's
resort extraordinaire.
Europe's nobles began to winter there at the turn
of the century; among these were D.H. Lawrence,
who had a Villa there. Filled with fine medieval
buildings, bougainvilleas-filled squares, bustling
cafes and boutiques, and shady groves of lemons
and oranges, Taormina enjoys a year-round season,
and it's spectacular situation is enhanced by
the looming eminence of blue, snow-copped Mount
Etna. The view from the Greek theatre is one of
the most impressive in all of Sicily.
In the afternoon,
your first 1 hour cooking lesson on Mediterranean
Cuisine to be held at the Hotel.
